J. Jonah Jameson was the managing editor of the Daily Bugle, a respected Manhattan-based newspaper. One of his employees was college university student and photographer Peter Parker, secretly known as the Spider-Man.
Members of a religious cult, led by the telekinetic Mandak, planned to steal a Rava religious icon from a museum and in the process frame Mr. Jameson for attempted murder. Fortunately for Jameson, Spider-Man exposed the crime and Jameson was exonerated.
