• The stars of the film are rumored to be: Star-Lord (a half-human, half-alien intergalactic policeman who can survive in space thanks to a special combat suit, and likes to jump into conflict with his twin guns blazing), Drax the Destroyer (a former saxophonist who was killed and resurrected as a knife-wielding green warrior devoted to battling Thanos), Rocket Raccoon (an anthropomorphic, genetically engineered critter from a planet used as a dumping ground for the insane), Groot (a giant, mobile tree-being), and Mantis (a sexy alien bug-woman).^[2] Other members of the 2008 Guardians of the Galaxy team (on which the film is based, as opposed to the original Guardians) may also make appearances. This includes Bug, Cosmo, Jack Flag, Moondragon, Gamora, Major Victory.

• The plot of the fiilm was summarized as being:

“A U.S. pilot who ends up in space in the middle of a universal conflict and goes on the run with futuristic ex-cons who have something everyone wants.” ^{[22][23][24][25][26]}

The U.S. pilot in question will most likely be Peter Quill aka Star-Lord.

• The plot is rumored to be adaptation of The Thanos Imperative and will feature Thanos as the main villian in the film.^{[27][28][29][30][31][32]}
• It is also rumored that The Infinity Gauntlet may play a role in the film's plot.^[33][34]
• This film might possibly take place after The Avengers 2, despite being released before. (since Internet Movie Database's summary talks as if Thanos goes to Earth to fight the Avengers immediately after Loki failed to retrieve the tesseract for him without any other battles he fights in between)
• The film will set before or during Iron Man 3.^[13]
• The film will be set in the year 2045.^[35]

Production

• CONFIRMED: The film was announced at this year's San Diego Comic-Con and reveal that it will have humor, "Those in the know say the project is in line with Avengers in tone in the sense there is plenty of comedic elements on display".^[36]
