Wong is a member of Masters of the Mystic Arts, who saved and mentored Stephen Strange.
Biography[]
Doctor Strange: The Sorcerer Supreme[]
Wong was part of Mordo's group in charge of catching the creatures sent by Dormammu. Despite this, he saw potential in Dr. Stephen Strange. Wong waited outside of Strange's hospital room and quickly excused himself when briefly running into Gina. Some time after Strange's accident, when Strange attempted to end his life by jumping off a bridge, Wong saved him by teleporting him gently back onto the bridge. He then told Strange about Tibet and that he can be healed before disappearing. When the doctor arrived to the Ancient One's temple, Wong let him inside.
They encountered Mordo and The Ancient One who stands on the other side. After Strange desperately begged for help, Ancient One let him stay. Wong lead him out into his room, one that was empty except for a rug. Strange asked where he is to sleep but Wong said comfort is a privilege he must earn. He also told Strange that he will start working in the morning. Downstairs Wong saw a group of sorcerers heading off to battle more Shadowhounds. Mordo did not think Wong can come since he is training Strange. Wong reminds Mordo that he did everything he needed to when teaching Mordo. A Shadowhound stalked Central Park as the group of seven sorcerers appear. A pack of Shadowhounds suddenly appeared and attack the group. During the battle, the hounds begin to destroy the lampposts cutting out the light. When the light bulb went out Wong casts a spell illuminating the entire area, revealing they were completely surrounded by hounds.
Wong, Mordo, and other three survivors returned to the temple by magic. Ancient One approached and asks where the others are. Wong told him that though they fought bravely they were lost. Mordo then told him that the creatures are growing more confident. The group walked by Strange scrubbing the floors and Wong noticed the man's struggle. After Strange finds a wall he broke, he told Wong that his hands were getting worse and wants to know when he can use them again. Wong told him that the healing isn't about his hands. In anger Strange left. As Wong watched him the Ancient One told him to let Strange go. Wong did not believe he would survive but Ancient One said it is his choice. After Strange collapsed and was saved by the Ancient One, Wong looked out and saw Strange, knowing that the Ancient One did it. Strange returned to breaking the wall. Ancient One looked on and told Wong that Strange is ready.
Two tornadoes traveled through the city. Suddenly the side of a building bursts out as a Chenoo comes through. One sorcerer tried to shield himself but was stomped on by the creature. Mordo conjured a sword while Wong conjured a spear as the two ran across the rooftops. They jumped down and begin stabbing at the creature. It went through a building knocking Mordo off. On the other side Mordo got back on as the creature continued running. However, the hide was so thick that his sword disappeared into smoke. He spotted Blue and Demara and told them to throw up a containment spell. Wong did not believe the two were strong enough to stop it and told them to get out of the way. However, Mordo believed it would work. Mordo conjured up a larger sword and broke through the hide. It hit the spell and stopped it, but the force of its charge broke through killing Blue and Demara.
The creature fell at the foot of the Sanctum and disappeared. Just then the two saw the other tornado and the Chenoo coming right at them. One sorcerer knocked it sideways into a building while another grows vines to trap its legs and eventually its entire body. The first sorcerer used a spell to powerfully punch the creature, but it broke free and bit him throwing him like a ragdoll. The protective spell wore off and Wong caught him in mid-air. Mordo came down and killed the creature with a single blow. The ragdoll sorcerer was injured but fine. Mordo almost killed Strange during training but was caught by Wong's smoke. Mordo broke free but Wong materialized between the two. Wong reminded Mordo that he is to train Strange, not kill him. However, Mordo contended that a Sorcerer Supreme must be able to defend himself, he then left. Strange asked what Mordo meant but Wong dismissed it. Wong said that Strange has a unique gift to absorb magic, which is only granted to a few individuals. Because of Mordo's outburst Wong took over Strange's training.
Wong began training Strange in the ways of martial arts. He went from mirroring Wong's movements to sparring with four at once. After the sorcerers move to the Sanctum Sanctorum, Strange headed off to the hospital to check the kids Dormammu wanted to use as a portal, and Mordo followed in case a warrior is needed. Meanwhile, Ancient One and Wong stayed behind to defend the Sanctum. After they leave Ancient One handed the Eye of Agamotto off to Wong. Wong teleported to the hospital in a puff of smoke only to find Strange injured by an absent Mordo. He then explained to Strange that Mordo has joined Dormammu. Wong and Strange appeared at the Sanctum but found the Ancient One was already dead. Wong cradled his master's body but Strange knew they needed to find Mordo. Wong handed him the Eye of Agamotto as it was the only way to find Mordo. Strange argued that it is only for the Sorcerer Supreme but Wong agreed.
Strange walked out from the shadows with Wong behind him and confronted Mordo. Mordo saw the Eye and attacked with his sword. However, Wong stopped the attack while Strange did not even move a muscle. Mordo summoned his sword to him and attacked, while Wong made his sword double sided. The two fight while Strange went to the children. During the fight Mordo jumped on Wong's head and cut his chest. Wong fell to the ground and Mordo went to make a finishing strike. Strange stopped him in the nick of time. After Strange defeated Mordo, Dormammu arrived and then went to attack Strange and Wong. Strange defended himself and Wong but the attack was too great. Dormammu then took the Eye and left. Wong told Strange to follow. Dormammu arrived at the Sanctum, then Strange stepped up to confront Dormammu. As Dormammu's flames overwhelmed Strange, Wong arrived and gives Strange a message.
Wong said that Dormammu is a creature of pure magic and Strange could use that against him. Strange managed to close the Eye and bring it back to him, where it opened up again. He uses the eye to absorb all the magic that Dormammu was using against him. Strange absorbed all of Dormammu's flames until nothing was left. Then the remainder of Dormammu disappeared into a cloud of smoke. Wong told him that is not what he meant. After the huge battle, Wong accompanied Strange to the grave site of April Strange. Wong asked if Strange was alright and he answered that he was. At the rebuilt Sanctum, Strange asksed Wong how it went with scouting for new recruits. Wong told him there are several promising people, including one woman named Clea. The two walked inside and Strange magically closed the door behind them.
Doctor Strange: The Sorcerer's Apprentice[]
At the Sanctum Sanctorum, Doctor Strange sensed that four of Dormammu's Shadowhounds were loose in New York City. The Eye of Agommoto then sensed that Strange's apprentice Clea is eavesdropping on him and Wong. As Clea entered the room she said that she was ready to fight alongside Doctor Strange and Wong. Wong disagreed but Strange told Clea that even though she wasn't ready to fight alongside them she should see the monsters they face. Later, as Doctor Strange and Wong fough the Shadowhounds, Clea watched from a rooftop. Strange and Wong defeated three of the Shadow Hounds but the fourth one attacked Clea. When Doctor Strange and Wong went to the rooftop where they left Clea they saw that she was missing. By using a spell Wong discovered that Clea had been bitten by the Shadowhound and that the hound's venom might have corrupted her with Dormammu's dark magic. Wong told Strange that Dormammu's corruption would compel Clea to return to the Sanctum Sanctorum to destroy it.
Strange quickly located Clea and stopped her from killing a civilian. However, Clea had several mystical creatures attack Strange and Wong. Clea then attacked Strange personally. However, Strange was able to use his magic to purge Dormammu's corruption from her body.
