Photostatic Veil

The Photostatic Veil is a device that is used to replicate the face and voice of another individual. It was revealed to be created by Selwyn.

History[]

Captain America: The Winter Soldier[]

When S.H.I.E.L.D. and the World Security Council planned to activate Project Insight led by Alexander Pierce, Black Widow used the device to infiltrate the meeting by pretending to be Councilwoman Hawley. As Hawley, she attacked Pierce before deactivating the veil to reveal herself.

"Face My Enemy"[]

Sunil Bakshi utilized the device to pretend to be Glenn Talbot in order to steal a painting with the City Blueprints written on the back.

While using the device as Talbot, he confronted Director Phil Coulson and Melinda May to learn their motives. When May went into the hotel room and found Agent 33, she attacked, but the fake Talbot, confused Agent May allowing Agent 33 enough time to knock her out

Agent 33 then used the veil to pretend to be Agent May. As Agent May, Agent 33 entered The Bus, planted a computer virus in its systems. She asked Coulson to accompany her to the hotel room. However Coulson was able to deduce that the person he was with was not Agent May.

Agent May was able to escape capture from Bakshi and began to fight Agent 33 disguised as her. Using a cord Bakshi was going to use to brainwash her, she used the cord on Agent 33 and burned the veil onto her face.

The veil is seen when Agent 33 is tracking Raina, it is stated that the veil is called a "Nano Mask" by Coulson directly.

Capabilities[]

The Photostatic Veil is able to alter the face of its user. Using a DNA sample of a subject it is able to replicate their appearance exactly. A voice synthesizer is used in conjunction to complete the illusion.
