Denarian Garthan Saal was a member of the Nova Corps.
Biography[]

Garthan Saal apprehended Rocket, Groot, Quill and Gamora on Xandar along with Rhomann Dey, ordering the four to be sent to the Kyln.
Later when Ronan the Accuser approached the city in the Dark Aster, Saal led an enormous brigade of Nova fighters against the warship, managing to link every fighter and create a large net engulfing the ship. The shield eventually broke when the Aster's thrusters pulled through, crushing many ships as well as Saal's, killing him.
Character traits[]
Garthan Saal was rather heavy on sarcasm and routinely dealt with taking in and commissioning prisoners on Xandar, often without concern. However, Saal possessed a strong sense of duty and was willing to die to protect his home, as seen when he sacrificed himself along with thousands of other ships to prevent the Dark Aster from attacking the city.
