Nathaniel Essex, also known as Mr. Sinister, is a mutate who possesses an accelerated healing factor, energy blast and superhuman longevity. He is a scientist who is obsessed with creating the perfect mutant.

- Mutate Physiology: Mr. Sinister is a very powerful mutate who possesses an accelerated healing factor, energy blast and superhuman longevity.
- Accelerated Healing Factor: Mr. Sinister's metabolism allows him to heal much faster, more extensively, and efficiently than normal humans and most other mutates. He can completely heal from physical injuries in a matter of seconds or minutes; depending on how serious they are.
- Superhuman Immunity: Due to Mr. Sinister's accelerated healing factor, he is immune to most, if not all types of diseases, illnesses, sickness, drugs, poisons, toxins, radiation, disorders, disabilities, etc.
- Superhuman Longevity: Due to Mr. Sinister's accelerated healing factor, he does not visibly age beyond his prime. Despite being at least 150 years old, he still maintains the physical appearance of a man in his prime.
- Energy Blasts: Mr. Sinister, can generate, create and project bright orange or yellow energy blasts from both of his hands.
