Ernst Mueller was a Nazi officer in World War II who was tried for his crimes and sentenced to death.

Roger Dooley met with Mueller on death row in Nuremburg and showed him pictures of the two dead Russians. Dooley offered to help him escape his sentence if he told him about the battle where the Russians supposedly died. Dooley offered Mueller a cyanide pill to save him the torture of hanging. Mueller said that there was no battle at Finau, but instead the Nazis came upon a massacre. Dooley gave him the pill. However, the pills were in reality only breath mints. Mueller was hanged the following day as scheduled.
