- M.O.D.O.K. was first considered for Iron Man in a script written by Jeff Vintar and Stan Lee for 20th Century Fox before the film began redevelopment at Marvel Studios. MODOK was then considered to appear during early development of the film Captain America: The Winter Soldier, with Peter Dinklage cast in the role, before the character was cut from the final draft in favor of Alexander Pierce. A variation of MODOK appears in MCU tie-in video game Iron Man 3: The Official Game with this version is Aldrich Killian, who transferred his consciousness into the MODOK before his death. In early 2017, the MCU television series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. introduced Anton Ivanov/ The Superior in the series' fourth season with the intent of having him become MODOK in the fifth season before Marvel Studios retracted their previously granted access to the character to be adapted. In setup for his cancelled future role as MODOK, in the fourth season, Ivanov was reduced to a disembodied brain in a vat, and granted control over a series of unnamed Life-Model Decoys Designed Only for Killing L-MODOKs built in his image. The New Warriors pilot featured Keith David as an original character named Ernest Vigman< who was would eventually become MODOK but the pilot did not go to series.
