The Blackbird is the X-Men's first aerial transport. It has some VTOL capabilities, and technology many years ahed of its time.

X-Men: First Class

Blackbird is strongly visually based on the SR-71, though its internal layout is very different. The film is set in 1962, when the real-world SR-71 was still in development, meaning it is most like an A-12 which was first flown in April of that year. A young Dr. Hank McCoy designs the Blackbird while working in CIA's Division X, and later pilots the stealth jet for the X-Men during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

When Deadpool, engaged in a firefight on a highway Colossus along with his trainee Negasonic Teenage Warhead flew the Blackbird out to confront him.
